ACTS - “A Community That Serves” - is CUMC’s tool to help each of us faithfully serve by choosing from many different activities, ministries, and basic jobs that are necessary for the operation of the church and its programs. Some are designed to help us grow in our spiritual journeys, and others are opportunities for us to share our time and talents with others. The selections that you make on the form will be effective July/August 2008 and continue through June/July 2009. Forms will be available for adults, youth (grade 7-12 in 2008-09) and children (kindergarten – 6th grade in 2008-09). In years past, these forms have been printed and mailed to all the households - which has been a big expense and a poor use of God-given natural resources. In order to be better stewards, this year, the forms will be available on the website soon and links will be emailed to those on the e-bulletin list, and a smaller number of copies will be printed and be made available at the church. Throughout May and the first part of June, you will be reminded to go to these links, review the forms, and send a reply to the church (
) with your selections. The Technology Committee is working on ways to allow the completion of the forms on the website but those plans have not been finalized to date. Watch for more news about ACTS forms next week. The ACTS selections should be completed before school is out and summer vacation begins in June.
In order for CUMC to Set the Trend in Discipleship, which is our ministry goal for this year, each person should seriously consider at least one way to help serve in the coming year. Completing an ACTS form is the best way the church has found to help you make your selections.

You have a friend at Centreville . . .
This is a welcoming community of faith where everyone can find hope, help and home. CUMC's vision is to love and serve God, to provide an accepting home for anyone who hurts, and to empower each believer to fulfill God's purpose. We gather each Sunday morning to worship God and celebrate our faith. During the week, we come together for various small groups and classes, rehearsals and meetings, Bible studies and prayer groups. Centreville UMC is also a gathering place for community groups of people who are searching for knowledge and fellowship, need support, or who wish to share their gifts with those less fortunate.
Worship services are on Sundays at 8:15, 9:30, 11:00, and 11:02 a.m. Nurseries for our youngest are available at each hour. Sunday school classes for children, youth and adults are held at both 9:30 and 11:00. Parking is plentiful. All are welcome! If you have questions, please stop by the Welcome Table located just inside the front doors. There are several friendly greeters waiting to welcome you and answer your questions.

New Worship Service offered at Centreville UMC
Sundays at 11:02 a.m. in the Recreation & Outreach Center (ROC)
The new service meets weekly at 11:02 in the ROC (Recreation and Outreach Center). Featuring modern contemporary worship music by the praise team led by Patrick Coleman, the service will fill a need for CUMC members and will also be an outreach tool for members of the Centreville Community.
Please be in prayer for this new service and look for a way to be supportive. People are still needed in several areas to make this successful. This is one way we will be setting the trend in making disciples for Jesus Christ in 2007 and beyond.
Great things are happening at CUMC – and we are setting the trend in making disciples – that is what we are about – spreading the good news of the love of Christ to the community.
