Youth

Sunday evening youth group is open to all youth in grades 7 through 12. Middle School youth group meets Sundays from 4:30-6:30 pm. High School youth group meets Sundays from 6-8 pm. Both groups join together for dinner from 6-6:30 pm in the CUMC fellowship hall.

Teens Opposing Poverty PDF Print E-mail

CUMC Youth serve the homeless in DC through Teens Oopposing Poverty. We distribute food and talk with homeless people through TOP's street ministry. For more information, please visit TOP's webiste, www.teensopposingpoverty.org. Our next trip into DC for TOP will be July 10.

 
Youth Choir (Voices In Praise) PDF Print E-mail

Voices In Praise - Grades 7-12 Vocal Choir. Directed by Becky Jackson - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Rehearsal - Wednesday 7:00-8:00 PM. Voices In Praise leads music in worship two times a month, alternating between the 9:30 and 11:00 AM services. The group sings at the 8:30 PM Christmas Eve service and take leadership roles in one of the Wednesday evening Lenten services. They participate with others in the Youth Fellowship in preparing and leading worship on Youth Sunday. In even-numbered years they prepare a musical to share in morning worship. Each spring they participate with other area youth in a youth choir festival at Kings Dominion amusement park in Ashland, Virginia.

 
Youth Ministry Opportunities to Serve PDF Print E-mail

The youth are looking for people to provide dinner during their Sunday evening combined Fellowship time from 6-6:30 PM.

 

Dinner is an opportunity for middle school and high school youth to fellowship together as they share a meal.

 

Each week, two families help make this time possible. There are lots of opportunities to serve the youth in this way.
