The UMW is an organized community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission.  The UMW has a variety of opportunities for fellowship. Please click on the UWM Fellowship Group section of the website for more details.  Groups meet in the morning, the evenings and all meet once a month, September through June.  There’s a group for women of all ages!  If you are unable to commit to a monthly meeting, the UMW sponsors four unit events each year.  Check the UMW bulletin board at the church to find detailed information about individual groups and meeting times.  Join anytime during the year.

A wonderful way to meet other women and make friends is to join one of Centreville’s four UMW Fellowships or be a Member At-Large.  The groups are open to new members throughout the year and all members participate in a wide range of activities and strive to bring women in the church closer to one another.  Below are descriptions of each fellowship and contact information.  Our fellowships are always eager to welcome new members.

Fannie Harrison Fellowship meets every third Monday at 7:30 PM in members’ homes.  A wide variety of programs are presented including speakers, crafts, spiritual reflection, mission-related issues, etc.  Members provide support for a Russian orphan with funds, gifts and correspondence. Babysitting is not currently provided but may be arranged if a member requests. For more information please contact the church office (703)830-2684.

Felicity Fellowship is one of the largest in the church.  Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:30 PM in members’ homes.  Babysitting is provided.  A variety of programs are presented at meetings throughout the year.  Some examples of past programs include the power of prayer, coping with Alzheimer’s disease, dealing with depression, and breast cancer prevention and detection.  Felicity supports several local missions though donations as well as participation in a Centreville mentoring program with youth.  For more information please contact Ruth Mai at (703)830-9712.

Morning Glory Fellowship is one of the oldest existing fellowships at CUMC and meets at 9:30 AM on the third Wednesday of the month at the church.  Members and guests present a wide variety of programs and the fellowship traditionally presents the Spring Mission Breakfast at their April meeting and makes pies for the annual UMW bazaar luncheon at their October meeting.  Members also participate in local, national and worldwide mission projects.  Babysitting can be made available at members requests.  For more information, call Mindy Haughey at (703)815-9640.
